Residential Side Gate | Ashbury Heights | San Francisco

Project Overview

In a residential neighborhood of San Francisco overlooking the mountains, Edgewood Ave, additional perimeter protection was introduced at a wooden side gate. Side gates are often less visible from the street, making them potential points of entry. To strengthen this vulnerable area, the Ninja Deterrent™ Gothic Black model was installed along the top edge of the gate.

Installation Details

The installation places the stainless-steel spike rail directly above the wooden structure, forming a discreet but continuous security line.

The spikes are mounted in a way that aligns with the natural design of the gate. From a distance, the defensive element remains unobtrusive, while up close it establishes a clear deterrent.

Design Integration

The gate is built with vertical wooden panels that emphasize a natural, warm exterior. On top, the Gothic Dual Blade Black rail integrates with minimal visual impact. Unlike overtly aggressive barriers, the spike line provides protection while keeping the overall appearance understated and modern.

Conclusion

This installation shows how Ninja Deterrent™ can be applied effectively to residential wooden gates without overwhelming the design. The Gothic Dual Blade Black model offers a low-profile but decisive security measure for side entrances, particularly in urban neighborhoods where aesthetics and safety must coexist.
