Ocean Views, Uncompromised Security

Perched directly above the sand on the coast of Los Angeles, this oceanfront residence is wrapped in white frosted-glass privacy panels that frame the Pacific while screening the home from the public beach path. The owners wanted to keep the airy, light-filled character of the frontage — and make the perimeter genuinely difficult to scale.

A continuous line of stainless anti-climb spikes was set along the entire top rail of the wall and gate. From the beach side they read as a fine, almost decorative crest; from a would-be intruder's perspective they remove every safe hand- and foot-hold at the most exposed climbing point.

Why Spikes Here

  • Beachfront frontage is the most accessible — and most tempting — approach
  • Frosted glass gives privacy but is smooth and easy to vault without a deterrent on top
  • The spikes preserve the clean, modern white aesthetic instead of bars or razor wire

The spikes were finished to sit quietly against the white and cream panels, working alongside the property's existing CCTV and security signage for a layered, visible deterrent.
