A Full Perimeter, Made Unclimbable

This urban multi-unit property is enclosed by tall painted concrete and panel walls. Smooth and continuous, those walls offered privacy but also a clean, grippable top edge along the entire perimeter. The brief was simple: make every run of wall genuinely unclimbable, and make that message visible.

A continuous line of anti-climb spikes was run along the full top edge of every wall section and gate. Paired with clearly posted warning signage, the spikes turn a passive privacy wall into an active, obvious deterrent.

Why a Continuous Line

  • A perimeter is only as strong as its lowest, easiest section
  • Smooth concrete and panel tops are simple to mantle without a deterrent
  • Visible spikes plus signage discourage the attempt before it starts
