Continuous anti-climb spike installation on a perimeter wall near W Sunset Blvd in Hollywood, Los Angeles, maintaining a clean architectural look while securing the property.

Anti-climb security spikes installed at a historic Creole cottage in New Orleans, Louisiana, preserving architectural charm while enhancing security.
On Milan St in New Orleans, we installed Gothic (Black) continuously along the Tuscan garden wall. The low-profile, restrained matte black blends seamlessly with the classic feel of the gas lamps and shutters, while reliably eliminating any grab points.
From the sidewalk, the Gothic line reads as little more than a fine dark edge along the top of the wall — easy to overlook against the gas lamps, ironwork, and shutters that define the street. Step closer, though, and the intent becomes unmistakable: a precise row of purpose-built points that makes the top of the wall impossible to grip. It is exactly the balance this historic block called for — security that stays invisible to passersby and only declares itself to someone close enough to consider climbing.
The spikes run in a single unbroken line across the full length of the wall, with no gaps at the posts, joints, or corners. That continuity is the whole point: a climber instinctively looks for one weak section to get a hand or foot over, and here there simply isn't one. Finished in black against the dark wall, the run stays visually quiet while the geometry does the real work of denying any foothold or handhold.
Rather than a tall, aggressive barrier, the crown sits low and close to the coping, reading as a slim shadow line instead of bolted-on hardware. This low-rise profile is what lets it settle into the historic streetscape — the proportions stay true to the original wall, so nothing about the facade feels altered or modern. The outcome reinforces the perimeter while keeping the cottage's classic character fully intact, never tipping into an institutional look.
The vintage shutters, ironwork, and gas lamps remain the "stars" of this residence. Therefore, we specified a matte black, low-profile crown shape that blends into the coping line from a distance, while clearly conveying the impossibility to climb over at closer inspection.
"We got the final layer of security we needed, without sacrificing the classic Tuscan wall design. It's discreet and doesn't distract from the intended design of the entrance, all while maintaining the security aspect."
