A custom decorative roof ornament project for Japanese celebrity Izumi Mori in Tokyo, showcasing Ninja Deterrent aesthetic security design.
We are thrilled to announce that we were commissioned by the model and DIY enthusiast, Mrs. Izumi Mori, to design and produce a completely custom-made roof ornament!
Mrs. Mori installed it on her beloved "Giving Garden" and featured it on her "Izumi Mori's IZOOMI Channel."
Known for her love of pets, passion for DIY, and cheerful personality, Mrs. Mori desired a decorative product that was less imposing and perfectly matched her outdoor space surrounded by plants. The completed panel embodies these preferences, and she has raved that it's "100 times cuter!"
Here, we would like to share with our readers the story of how it all began, from the custom order to the final feature on YouTube.
One morning in May 2025, we received a notification from Etsy, the overseas handmade marketplace where we also list our products, that "Izumi Mori" had made an inquiry about our product.
We at Otani Ninja Deterrent™️ focus our sales efforts overseas, so we were surprised to receive an inquiry in Japan from Izumi Mori. "Izumi Mori"...? When it comes to Japanese customers named "Izumi Mori," only one came to mind. We were overwhelmed with the desire to ask exactly who, but we restrained ourselves and continued to respond to the call.
Mrs. Mori requested the above, and we asked for design information regarding her greenhouse and surrounding areas. In the back of Mrs. Mori's greenhouse, lush trees are planted, and I was concerned that the design of the roof ornament, while assertive, would not harmonize beautifully if it did not match the surrounding environment. Therefore, I went back to the origin of Ninja Deterrent™️ and thought about the metalwork as a decoration.
Based on Mrs. Mori's request and the information provided, we moved forward with a design concept of Sprouting and Flourishing Leaves. To ensure it didn't get lost against the greenhouse background, we opted for a subdued black paint to accentuate the contours, starting with a design that features soft Gothic curves and pointed elements as a "roof ornament." Based on the dimensions provided, we adjusted it to the traditional Japanese silver ratio, aiming for a design that feels somewhat familiar, even though it is Western-style.
As a business, it was incredibly gratifying to have a customer, regardless of who they are. We worked on it for three days and three nights, from the rough draft to the inception of dimensions, her words were truly an honor. The design was successfully approved by Mrs. Mori and we contacted her with production instructions. It was here that, admittingly, I lost my patience and asked if she was who i thought she was.
What a surprise! The "Izumi Mori" was none other than the beautiful model and DIY enthusiast, Mrs. Izumi Mori, who is active in the entertainment industry. We had been pondering the possibility that the name "Izumi Mori" could only belong to the one an only star "Mrs. Izumi Mori," After that, everyone involved began production with our dedicated level of attention, and we successfully delivered the product.
In early July 2025, Mrs. Mori informed us via Instagram that the installation was complete and shared her feedback. Mrs. Mori also informed us that she would be featuring the roof ornament on YouTube, and I eagerly awaited that moment.
As I was working on new design for Ninja Deterrent™️, our team watched her video many times! We were truly honored that our product we confidently worked on could bring someone such joy. In the video, she repeatedly mentioned,
She generously showered us with praise. After working on this project for her three days and three nights, I realized that I had become her fan.
> We were allowed to make this metal fitting. > #NinjaDeterrent > I am grateful for the connection I received due to a series of coincidences 🙇♀️ > Mrs. Mori said in the YouTube video that it was a craftsman from Kyoto, but it is actually a "craftsman from Higashi Osaka" 😁 https://t.co/hiBykYS6da > — Wife of a factory in Higashi Osaka @ Matsuda Sangyo Co., Ltd. (@koubano_yome) September 18, 2025 The roof ornament was actually designed and manufactured in Osaka. It has become an inside joke among those involved n our team. 🥷
In this project, we introduced everything from the order to the installation of the custom-made roof ornament for Mrs. Mori. In addition to our lineup of products, we can provide Ninja Deterrent™️ that are suitable and customizable for your precious property.
